Coast to Coast Diary Words of Wisdom |
Words of Wisdom We are not pretending be particularly wise but the tips below are ones that we would pass onto anyone planning to do the Coast to Coast walk. They are obviously applicable to the weather conditions we experienced in July. 1. Definitely use a bag transfer service. 2. Take a good guidebook 3. Use boots that are well walked in and good socks change your socks during the day if its hot or you get wet. 4. Keep your feet dry and treat blisters early 5. Take your time 6. Use feedback from other walkers when selecting your accommodation try the Sherpa Van website 7. During hot weather ask your hosts to freeze your water bottles; just remember not to fully fill them. 8. Take a cotton neckerchief weighs very little and has lots of uses 9. Take plenty of photographs, especially of the people that you meet 10. Stay at Brookfield, Butt House and Intake Farm if you can get in
